A letter from the President

My grandparents, Jim and Mary Alice Jackson, founded James S. Jackson Company in Wells County in 1947. Through their efforts, the company grew and prospered, truly becoming the family business. Their sons Jim, Tom, and Mick are all previous superintendents, project managers, and owners of the company. The legacy and ethical standard instilled by Jim and Mary Alice allowed their sons to build on the foundation of their success.

However, James S. Jackson Company is really the story of two families. In 1969, Francis “Stu” Studebaker joined the Jackson team as a superintendent. Shortly after, Stu’s son Marc also joined the team. During his career, Marc has held just about every position in the company and is now at the helm as our company CEO. Today, ownership of the company is made up of Marc Studebaker (second generation), Conor Jackson (third generation), and Ben Studebaker (third generation). You could say our commitment to this company in our blood.

Over the last 77 years, James S. Jackson Company has moved from a small construction company to a first-tier general contractor. We operate in the municipal water/wastewater, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. This work is performed under both public and private contracts. Much of the private work has been through design-build delivery.

Our goal is to work alongside our friends and partners to complete projects on-time and within budget while maintaining a friendly and communicative atmosphere through every step of the process.

We look forward to working with you!

Warm Regards,

Conor Jackson
